Discussion Forum – Planning for Autonomous Vehicles in Melbourne
The John Cain Foundation presents a late afternoon discussion forum on 26th June to hear from experts in the development of autonomous vehicles. Is Melbourne prepared for the introduction of driverless cars and trucks? Are there implications for Plan Melbourne? What other governance issues will confront city managers and state governments in the next era of road transport?
Well known urban planner Lyndsay Neilson leads a distinguished team of experts in review of the status of
planning for introduction of autonomous vehicles to Melbourne. Other members of the review team are transport economists Mike Waller and Bob Noakes. All three have followed closely developments in electric, driver-less vehicles internationally and in Australia. A comprehensive report on the implications for Melbourne, commissioned by the John Cain Foundation, will be available at the forum.
