SEMINAR: 2nd March 2017

A packed lecture theatre heard LH Martin Institute Professor Leesa Wheelahan explain with grim clarity why Australia’s vocational education system is failing students, industry and the community. In a seminar facilitated by John Cain Foundation Director Maxine McKew, Professor Wheelahan documented in detail the mismatch between stated objectives of governments and the system they designed and implemented. Her research is comprehensive and conclusive. Three VET experts supported her conclusions and the panel answered questions from a very lively audience.

The lecture was the first in a series on vocational education and labour market challenges jointly sponsored by the John Cain Foundation and University of Melbourne.
